Frantz Hall

Teacher | Teacher Mentor

What an incredible journey it has been! Growing up in New York City, Frantz fell in love with dance the moment he saw Fred Astaire tap dancing on television in the basement of my childhood home in Queens. He pursued a career on the stage and, before he knew it, he was on tour with Whitney Houston, traveling the world, and participating in several Broadway and TV shows. After a dance-related knee injury, he transitioned into Corporate America as a Vice President in Finance.

In 2001, after complaining of knee pain, his husband basically nagged him into taking his first hot yoga class. He found it incredibly challenging and nearly slept for 24 hours afterwards. Since he rarely shies away from a challenge, he practiced every day for 6 months. After about 3 months, he found that not only had his mobility improved, but he discovered a mental quiet that he had never experienced before. Yoga restored his physical wellbeing as well as enhanced his spiritual wellbeing.

A friend invited him to try Modo Yoga NYC, and he fell in love! The atmosphere, the practice, the variety, the people were amazing. After making the decision to leave corporate America and being a member of the Modo community for a while, he decided to do the Teacher Training in Montreal. He wanted to share his experiences and the benefits of yoga through offering, not only the series, but also the philosophy of Modo. He believes his injury has given him a great deal of compassion for others with injuries.

His time in training was amazing and brought him even further back to his core. It’s a time he will always cherish and always refer back to. Since his initial Modo training, he’s also become certified in Modo Flow, Yin, Therapeutic/Restorative Yoga, Sequencing, Functional Anatomy for Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. He is so proud to be part of the Modo NYC team and looking forward to learning from the community of students and teachers and guiding others on their journey.
