Green Initiatives & Features
Modo Yoga NYC strives to be a leader is sustainability on and off the mat. We believe that the critical global issues of our time (climate change, poverty, education, health and wellness etc…) are hugely important, affect every human on this planet, and that through building strong resilient community, we can make a positive contribution to a more peaceful and thriving world.
Here is a brief snapshot of our ongoing efforts and initiatives:
Together with Tamandua Expeditions we have founded Junglekeepers, a charity dedicated to protecting the Madre de Dios region of Peru (the most bio-diverse and pristine part of the amazon jungle).
Modo Yoga NYC supports and collaborates annually with the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, a Kenyan organization dedicated to conservation, education, health and sustainable development in local Maasai communities.
In collaboration with Moksha Yoga Montreal, we have founded Yoga in Schools in Haiti, which offers a weekly yoga program at the Edeyo School in Bel Air, P.A.P. Haiti.
MYNYC also offers a weekly yoga program at the City-As-School in the West Village of Manhattan.
We are also supporting Pathway to Paris, an initiative building awareness around the importance of turning the Paris Agreement into action.
